Control Highlights:
Control System
Allen Bradley Control Logix looks like a programmable controller but is much more as it includes a state of the art control platform that integrates multiple control disciplines: sequential, motion, drive, and process control. This controller is much faster than a PLC 5 processor. The dual axis servo control modules close the position and velocity loops 5000 times/second for enhanced position control.
Sensors
LMI Dynavision B8 sensor heads use 3 inch Laser Spacing with Visible red lasers.
(Available in 2 foot increments) top only or top and bottom scanning available.
8 Lasers in each 2 foot increment with 2 cameras per 2 foot increment provide binocular style measurements.
Thickness Range up to 14"
Accuracy +/- 0.020 (or better)
Thickness resolution 0.005 inches
No fiber optics cables needed-uses Ethernet Cat 5 cables
Width measurement encoder provides width accuracy of +/- 1/32 inch.
PLC Operator Interface
Standard Windows 2000 Computer (touch screen optional). This computer is used for PLC programming and interface to PLC Servo Controllers. Uses Allen Bradley RS View Graphical Interface (either mouse or touch screen inputs).
User Interface/Solution Computer
Uses Proven Linux Operating System installed in reliable dual processor computer. Graphical user interface provides 3D views of Cant solution. Only one computer/CRT is required for user interface and Real Time Solution Calculations. Service available through modem via customer furnished phone connection.
Optimization
Real time optimization according to product price.
Product definition by thickness, width, length, grade, wane rules, and price.
Parameter modification and saving during production.
Reports
Production Reports for each shift.
Reports show usage of each saw.
